Interesting Event Ideas?

Loco Pocos needs an injection of regular fun!

At present, all of our events have been large scale, onces every 2 month affairs, but I'd like to provide more small scale events that we can enjoy. Right now we have fishing going on regularly but fishing isn't for everyone, and effectively it is not a free event, since you have to purchase a fishing rod and bait.

I have some simple ideas for more regular events, such as:

- Races, wearing the Toys or just running!
- Show and tell, a chance to show off your latest custom Loco Pocos creation or other Tiny fun thing!
- Primtionary, this is pretty popular amongst tinies and is a really fun way to be creative :)

How about you? What would you like to see? What events do you enjoy? Let me know :D

I love the Primtionary idea. I regularly play at GQ Start and didn't really realize there were other groups and places that do it.

Having some DJ experience, the only idea I can presently suggest is maybe a weekly dance and music night.

I would totally love to do a dance night, but at the moment Loco Pocos don't have any dances (still working on this!) so it would be a sad affair :D

Primtionary is like Pictionary - the game where you try and draw a phraze and people guess what it is. But instead of drawing you build it with prims - fun!

Crikey, I can barely draw. I can't imagine how hard that would be trying to use prim sculpting.

It certainly is a different experience! But from what I have seen, there would be different difficulty levels that you can pick if it's your turn to 'sketch' so you could get a word like "cube" :P

I believe strongly that Loco Pocos third party developers should be every bit as involved with promotion of this wonderful community as Damien is. Therefore, I am going to put a prim in my boutique store every day for the next 10 days. I will change it at midnight SL time. Following is how the contest will work:

1) Come look at the prim I will put out in my Loco Love boutique spot at the Loco Pocos sim. On it will be a small piece of texture that will be available on a handbag that I will release at a later date. Look at the texture, and try to figure out what I called the texture. Then come here and send me your guess by mail here on the LOCO POCOS Ning group. Please guess on each texture as it comes up, as I will not accept any guesses submitted more than 24 hours after the texture has been removed to make room for the next days texture.

2) The prim will be updated once every day at midnight. The prim part will run from now until 23:59 on Wednesday the 18th (SL TIME).

3) Points will be awarded to every person based on how closely they match the name of the texture. You will get +1 points for every part of the name you match. You will get -1 points for every part that doesn't match. You can never get negative points for an entry, the minimum you can get is 0 points. The reason I will be giving negative points is to stop people from just giving me huge lists of every possible word in hopes of winning with the shotgun guess effect.
For instance, I have a texture on First Handbag that is blue, and pictures a little girl watering flowers and trees. It is called "gardeners", so anyone mentioning the word gardener gets +1 points. If they mentioned flowers or trees, they would cancel out their positive points, and receive 0 points for the round.
At the end of the contest, I will tally up the points and determine the winner. In case of ties, I will have a tie breaker texture.

4) On 23:59 on Thursday the 19th (SL TIME), I will collect all the mails, tabulate the results, and announce a winner. If necessary, I will give a tie breaker texture round.

5) I will not be posting any specific results until the end of the contests, nor will I answer any questions regarding how many points you got in a round or how many points you have in total. If asked, I can confirm what your guess on a specific round was, and whether it was received in time.

6) My contribution to the prize pot will be a L$350 gift card. This will go to the top points holder. In addition, I will give a free copy of my Magic Wand or a Handbag to the 2nd and 3rd place winners (or they can choose to give these prizes to another avatar).


So remember, here is the way it works:

Go to my shop at the boutique at Loco Pocos HQ.
Look at the texture fragment and think about it.
Come here to the Loco Pocos Ning and send me a mail with your guess about what the texture is named.
Repeat for as many of the textures as possible to try to get as many points as possible. Remember, you can never lose points by submitting a guess.

maybeh u can build an obstacle course as part of teh adventures at teh island.
if the obstacle course luks liek boot camp training, it'll pheel liek sumting rite out of Tiny Nation!

Now that we have several people that have made AWESOME dances we should really look into a club for Loco Pocos! I checked out Paw and Whiskers the other day and it was SO much fun! I dont think we'd even need to make a "club" right off we could just maybe use the community center start getting people there where they can dance, play frootcake, or just hang out and talks!
I like the obstacle course idea! Instead of everyone racing at the same time since this creates major lag we could do a "best time" kinda thing similar to what Greenies does or others that I've seen such as air races!
